Far in the future, past the trials Max and Tech go threw, Max constantly goes to the Great Desert Tournament every year due to his love of fighting, and every year he makes it to the finals, this year Max was not allowed to enter unless he followed Gran Toro's rules (Gran Toro now being in control of the Tournament)

One rule was he and Toro were to be in a tag team match, something Max did not like since fighting Toro was always the most interesting fight.

Next was neither were allowed to use their metal.

Third, the entry criteria for the other fighters meant they had to receive reconition from their regions and the Guards, Torments, Warriors, and especially the Legionairs were personally challenged meaning the champions were suppose to be way stronger than before, and they were able to make teams up to 4. 

And last, If Max really wanted to fight in the Tournament this year Max had to look like his partner. Max had to wear a luchador outfit and since Max only agreed last minuet his suit was made from guessed estimates meaning it doesn't fit him right.

Oh Poor Max, He's not allowed to use any of his powers in pants that squeeze the hell out of his manhood, but a few Legionairs did decide to join, namely Tech and Vlad who both got rather personalized insults from Toro to join, of course they had no problem, Tech has always beat Max and Vlad was the third strongest in the Legion, he couldn't turn down a challenge, as well as Max's good old uncle Timber, the one that trained Max in the first place. One big happy family.
